Phantom Gala
Memphis welcomed the Phantom of the Opera to the Orpheum
Theater in a big way with a black tie gala to beat all! The crowd of nearly
a thousand, including the entire cast of the show, was treated to a magically
enhanced evening featuring the Phantom playing a pipe organ as they all
walked in after the show, smoke billowing out of the sewer water scene
complete with floating candles, food and drinks galore, and the music
of Hudson & Saleeby. All of this was creatively presented in a great
old warehouse space in downtown Memphis on Beale Street. Congratulations
to Pat Haloran, Jody Avery, and Marcia Bryan for a very successful fund
raising event for the beautiful Orpheum Theater. Special thanks to the
Sara Lee Corporation for underwriting the entire event and to all involved
for your hard work and for using Hudson & Saleeby's music for this
memorable event.
